Hong Kong Food Travel Guide

Hong Kong is one of the most famous international cities in China. It is located in China’s mainland, but it is popularly called the Special Administrative Region of China. “Kowloon” redirects here too. For professional uses, see Hong Kong (official name). As a non-special administrative region, the term “Hong Kong” doesn’t get used as much, probably because nobody needs to talk about it.

Hong Kong Food

I’ve been to Hong Kong twice, once on a business trip and once for a holiday. I can say that both are great experiences for me. The first time was amazing: I was in a train, not flying and there were no language barriers. The second time was even better: I flew into Hong Kong and it was easy to communicate with the locals. And this was in fall of last year, just before the Chinese New Year.

So what about the pros and cons of Hong Kong flights? Well, the pros are many: it is very convenient and fast, especially when you consider the fact that Hong Kong lies within an hour from the airport of any major city in the world. In addition, you will feel relaxed and comfortable, especially in business class. In business class, you get more space and more luxuries: you won’t feel cramped like in economy class. And you won’t miss anything, since the seats are wider and higher.

The cons are less pros. In business class, you won’t enjoy your meals. If you are lucky, you can still eat an early meal, but even then it is very difficult. Food is served in a mini stage, so you cannot even see the food when you try to bite into it. It also costs more, even in economy class, due to the additional services, such as tea or coffee.

The pros are the same for both flight: you will have a delicious meal in luxury and at low cost. And the pros far outweigh the cons. You will be able to enjoy a leisurely meal, without feeling rushed. You will not feel hungry again for two days! If you look closely, the crew will also serve your favorite drinks.

Now let’s look at the cons. For one thing, if you are going to arrive at Hong Kong either on a hot or cold day, you will be disappointed. Hong Kong has no air conditioning, so your journey will be a lot hotter than you would prefer. This may not be a problem, though, if you are traveling during the summer. On the other hand, you can consider upgrading your seats: if you are unhappy with your seats, you can always upgrade to a better paying seat, or just give up and pay extra to avoid paying for such a high ticket!
